The AIDA 1 Discovery Freediving Course is an introductory program designed for complete beginner who wishes to explore the underwater world.

This course provides participants with the knowledge and skills needed to dive safely and confidently, covering essential topics such as what freediving is, the equipment required, proper preparation for a breath-hold dive, and key techniques including breathing exercises, equalization, duck diving, finning, buddying, and safety protocols. Participants will also learn about the main risks associated with freediving and how to manage them effectively.

Training is conducted by experienced and certified instructors, combining theory with hands-on practice either in pool or open water to ensure a comprehensive understanding of freediving.

Safety is emphasized throughout, with personalized guidance and feedback to help participants improve their breath-holding abilities and build confidence in the water.

Upon successful completion, participants receive an AIDA 1 certification. Whether you aim to explore the underwater world, enhance your freediving skills, or challenge yourself in a new and exhilarating way, the AIDA 1 course offers a safe, supportive, and rewarding start to your freediving journey.

Prerequisites

  • 18 years old or above (16 or 17 year old with parent or guardian consent)
  • Be able to swim at least 100metres

Course Outline

  • 1 x Theory
  • 1 x pool session or 1 day open water session

Certification Requirements

There are no passing requirements for this course. Students will be awarded the AIDA 1 certification upon completion of the course.
